I’m sure this is being covered to death but, if you haven’t heard, WordPress 2.5 is out. Some of the improvements include:

  • multi-file uploading
  • one-click plugin upgrades
  • built-in galleries
  • customizable dashboard
  • salted passwords and cookie encryption
  • media library
  • a WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code
  • concurrent post editing protection
  • full-screen writing
  • search that covers posts and pages

The most significant changes are to the administration functions. The easiest way to get up to speed on those changes is to check out this 4-minute screencast of the new interface in action.

I wouldn’t suggest that you run out and upgrade your WordPress site immediately without doing some serious testing first.

Let the plugin updating begin!
