Today at lunch, after eating my favorite peanutbutter and cookie batter sandwich, (the best way to get over my heroine addiction) I stumbled upon this great site that shows the top 100 network security tools available today. How do they know which security tools are the best?

The tools are voted on every three years by thousands of Nmap users. Nmap is a security scanner written by Gordon Lyon (Fyodor) who claims he is a friendly hacker. (he’s got my vote /wave with cheesy smile) Nmap may be used to discover computers and services on a computer network, thus creating a “map” of the network. (stop drooling) Gordon Lyon is also responsible for the top 100 network security tools site. The best part about these top tools is that it shows you with neat little icons which systems it can run on so you don’t have to get carpal tunnel while fishing for the one that works for your inept computer.

Happy Hunting…
